It's a GIRL!!!

Looks like we went against the grain on the boy/girl votes and are having a girl! (notice the pink accents added to the blog?!?) My appointment today was amazing. A 30+ minute ultrasound checking her out from head to toe, inside and out. I could have laid there all day and watched her heart beat and her body move all over the place. Our little widget is developing as she should and is right on schedule at 20 1/2 weeks. She currently weighs about 12 oz. Lance and I asked the ultrasound tech to keep the baby's sex a secret from us and put it in a sealed envelope so we could discover 'it' on our own. She took a picture, pointed out the necessary parts, and labeled it with "It's a Girl". We weren't all that surprised (there had been speculation at 2 previous ultrasounds), but it's still fun to know for sure! So, on to the name game...

We apologize to the UVA group that we were unable to complete the 2027 UVA basketball team (current line-up between 3-8 months old: Jackson Blumenthal, Logan Craig, Will Misner & William Manguikian). Won't it be fun to have a little girl in the group though?!?
Key for ultrasound pictures above:
Upper left - Right profile picture
Upper right - Left foot
Bottom right - Left profile picture
Bottom left - Almost full body facing forward...eyes, nose, mouth towards the upper left side; her hands are next to the side of her head; we think the feet are showing at the bottom right, but it gets harder to decipher parts at that point

  1. She's gonna be a beauty! She will be the perfect addition to our bunch of rowdy UVA babies. :)

  4. Congratulations!!! We did the same thing with the envelope to learn the baby's gender. I'm so excited for both of you. Parenthood is quite an adventure.
