OK, so she's 13 months old now, but a month late isn't too bad considering how late our last posting was. :-) Erin turned 1 on August 7th and we celebrated with a family party on the 8th in our backyard. Erin knew it was all about her and played the role well. While she didn't have much interest in eating her birthday cake (a gigantic cupcake), she did love tearing it apart and playing with the frosting. See slide show below for highlights.
In the last month or so Erin has perfected walking. She's pretty sure she's a bit more proficient at it than she is though and would like to walk down the stairs, forward, by herself. Thank goodness we have baby gates galore (and we usually remember to close them too). Some day, and we hope it's soon, she'll figure out the stairs and we can let her roam free around the house.
Other news - I quit my job and have been home with Erin for almost a month now. It is definitely a change of pace for me but so far I'm loving it! Erin seems to have gotten used to me being home with her too and we're establishing our own routine. Maybe, just maybe, I'll actually post to our blog on a more regular basis...
On the family side of things, Erin not going to be the youngest baby in the Nowak family for much longer. My sister Julie is pregnant with her second, due around the beginning of February. We can't wait for the newest arrival!!!
