Recap of the last 9 months

Original Post Started February 8th - tried again March 21st - it is now August 18th, 2010 - Erin is 1!!!

Here are the highlights:

2/8/10
At six months old, Erin weighed in at 16 lbs, 1 oz and is 26 3/4 inches long. This leaves her in the 55% for weight and 85% for length/height. Like last time, she did a great job showing off her skills and 'talents' and the doctor was very please with her growth and developmental progression. Turns out that Erin's a huge fan of the paper on the table at the doctor's office (it was in shreds by the time we left). Who knew it could be such a great form of entertainment. The shots were not entertaining for anyone involved though.

So, what is Erin up to these days...as of about 3 weeks ago, Erin has teeth - the first one was not alone very long, it was maybe a week before #2 broke through; she's working on sitting up on her own (some days seems closer than others); she can get up on all fours, but is not able to move forward in that motion (unless you count face-plants as moving forward...); Erin is eating rice cereal daily and will move onto new foods this week (I think we'll start with avocado, just for fun); she's laughing up a storm and there are times she's the only one that knows what is so funny; Erin likes to eat her toes and we're still amazed at how she can fold her body in half to do so (usually while on her back, getting her diaper changed or clothes changed); Oddly enough, grocery stores are a big hit in her little world - she smiles at other shoppers, keeps me entertained and loves to take in everything around her.

Adventure-wise, we moved into our new home the weekend before Christmas. We're loving life with all of our space and Erin has made out with an enormous playroom since we're lacking furniture for our living room. We headed up to Steamboat for 4 days to ring in the New Year with Lance's family. Great break from unpacking and all of the things that come with moving into a new home. Erin got some great bonding time too with her cousins Luke and Cassidy, Aunt Allison, Uncle Jim and Nana & Pop-Pop. The weekend of January 29th, Erin and I joined my sisters for a girls trip to Sun City West, Arizona to visit our Grandmother and celebrate her 98th birthday with her. Grandma was thrilled to have us and meet Erin as well.

We had a few visitors this Winter/Spring and it was nice to finally have room for people to stay with us. The Lewis family joined us twice - once in February for a ski trip and again the end of March for Passover. Jennifer, Jacqueline & Jessica flew into town along with Lance's parents, in April, to throw Allison a Surprise Party for her 40th birthday. Erin had a great time meeting her cousins. Unfortunately Hunter and Tim were not able to make it so she had to wait until July to play with the two of them (in Steamboat).

Erin and I flew to Chicago the 3rd week in April for a business trip. Aunt Karen (KK) welcomed us with open arms and graciously offered/agreed to take care of Erin for 3+ days while I worked downtown. Erin took to her new 'mom' very quickly and Karen remembered why she likes having older kids. :-)

This summer has been fairly low key. A couple of trips to Steamboat and weekends full of friends and BBQ's. Erin started crawling the end of March and walking the end of July. Now the real fun starts! Below are pictures over the last 8 months - I promise to be better at posting on a regular basis now that I am at home FULL TIME!
