Erin is growing like a weed. She was born weighing 6 lbs, 10 oz, was at 6 lbs, 14 oz a week and a half later and as of last Tuesday she weighed 9 lbs, 14 oz. The guess is she couldn't grow any more in utero so is making up for lost time and packing on the pounds now. Stats-wise, she's in the 75th percentile for height and weight.
Everyone says it, but boy is it true...time does fly when you have a newborn. I have no idea where the days have gone. Erin and I have been keeping busy, walking with friends (and the dogs of course), running errands and watching The View, Ellen & Oprah when time allows. :-) Yes, rough life, I know.
Since she was born, we've had many visitors/helpers. Aunt Julie was in town for Erin's birth and stayed until August 20th to help out. What a treat to have someone stay up with our baby until the 1:30am feeding so we could get a couple of extra hours of sleep and do our dishes!!! Nana and Pop-Pop McGee along with Great Grandpa Pop-pop Williams visited for a couple of days towards the end of August. It was great bonding time for Nana and Erin and we enjoyed celebrating Lance's dad's birthday with him (Pop-pop). Aunt Karen (along with cousins Megan & Adam) joined us for a few days the very end of August/beginning of September and made sure we were fed, Erin was held and loved and cleaned up around our house at bit.
Lance and I took Erin for her first hike in Evergreen (with Jason, CB & Sarah) Labor Day weekend. She was a champ, loving the outdoors and sleeping through the entire experience. We forgot a sunhat for her, so she donned my Adidas baseball cap instead (see slide show below). We also experienced our first night out, leaving Erin with my parents (Grandnan and Grandpa Mike) to enjoy dinner out with Becky and Mark to celebrate Becky and Lance's birthday. Everyone survived the experience and it couldn't have been too bad for the grandparents as they are coming back for more this coming Sunday so Lance and I can go to the Broncos game! Yippee!!!
Overall Erin is a good sleeper but it's still a little tiring to wake up 1-2 times a night for 30-45 minute stretches. Not complaining as I know it could be MUCH worse. Not much else to report at this time. I head back to work in 3 weeks and Lance will be hanging out with Erin while I work part-time for the month of October. November I move to 75% time and we're hoping to find a part-time nanny to take over from there.
We'll keep posting pictures and updates along the way. Thanks for checking in!
Steph & Lance
