Yep, almost 3 months since our last post. We have a very valid reason for the delay (outside of having a newborn). So, as many of you know we had our house on the market over the summer. As of the middle of July it hadn't sold, but we needed to get ready for Erin's arrival so took it off the market. Our plan was to try again in the spring. Well, one Sunday afternoon when Erin was about 6 weeks old, a woman knocked on our door and told us she had seen our place while it was on the market, she was in need of a new home as she had just sold her house, and was wondering what our plan was. Jump ahead a few weeks...we sold our town home
(just as I went back to work - the beginning of October) and had a little less than 3 weeks to find a place to live and move. Since we had not been house hunting, we figured we'd find a rental and start the search process again. We were lucky enough to find a cute little house in Wash Park, with a yard, that was willing to accept a short-term rental. We moved in October 25th, started house hunting again, and put an offer on a house the following weekend. An even longer story shorter...we close on our new house tomorrow, 12/11/09, and will move (again)in the next few weeks. It's a good thing we didn't unpack much :-)
On to Erin (since this blog is really about her)...Erin had her 4 month doctors appointment this week. She weighs 14 lbs. 3 oz and is 25 1/4 inches long (about the 75% for both). She's right on mark with developmental milestones and the doctor was very pleased with her progression. Pleased doesn't even begin to describe how Lance and I feel about her. We are truly blessed with a very good, happy baby. She's a great sleeper (at least 75% of the time), is mellow, talkative, very smiley and loves to cuddle. It is absolutely amazing to watch her change and grow and we love watching her take in the world around her.
Erin took her first plane ride to Chicago in November for cousin Megan's Bat Mitzvah. She lived up to her reputation and was a great baby through the entire trip. We also headed to Steamboat in October with two of Erin's friends, Taylor (2 weeks older) & Abby (4 weeks older) (and their parents) for a newborn weekend get-a-way. Outside of that, we've been keeping busy at home and getting psyched up for our new home. Check out the video of Erin talking to her friend, the polar bear and pictures of her changing and growing over the last couple of months. Hope everyone is well and that you have a happy and safe holiday season. Steph
